Florence Redwolves game

Since I have company in town, we decided to head out to the Redwolves game. The Redwolves were playing the Outer Banks Daredevils. I have to say that I was so impressed! It was nice to see people that I don’t always see, watch the game, have the kids be entertained and feed them dinner as well (I can’t say it was a HEALTHY dinner, but it certainly tasted good!)
We got there right as the game started and had no trouble purchasing tickets and getting in the game. ($5.00 for adults and $4.00 for the kids) The Humane Society was running the concession stand, and the service was quick and efficient. I had a hot dog with chili and we shared some nachos. My hotdog was excellent. The nachos were not homemade or anything, but still tasty. My friend had the “Wolf Burger.” This concoction looked fabulous, and she reports that she enjoyed every bite. There is also a slurpee stand, a stand with candy, and a stand that has t-shirts and the like. We didn’t actually go into the Beer Garden, but the area looks really nice and was pretty full.
The kids loved watching the game, the music, the sidebar entertainment. They liked watching the Redwolf, appropriately named “Homer”, but were not at all interested in getting close to him. (My daughter was aggrieved that he didn’t throw her a frisbee, so she insists we return so that she can catch one next time.)
The only suggestion that I would make to the Redwolves is that it would be fun if someone was tracking the speed of the pitches and somehow relaying that to the crowd.
There were SO MANY KIDS at the game! Did you know there is a playground in the stadium? The kids can play while you sit right next to them and watch the game at the picnic tables. Oh, I do have another suggestion– who in the world decided to put rocks as the ground covering in the playground area? That just has “bad idea” written all over it.
The energy in the air was full of excitement, and I found myself truly pulling for the Redwolves to win. (I did accidentally cheer when the Outer Banks got a homerun, but it was just so much fun to see it go wayyyyy over the wall, sorry.) The Redwolves pulled it out at the end, winning 4-3. They also won my family as repeat visitors!

Remember to tell them you read about it on theflossip.com!! Thanks for reading!
