Looking around town I see lots of new buildings going up. What are they? Who is coming to town?
There is a Five Guys Burgers coming to the Florence Mall. I have eaten at a Five Guys in Knoxville, and it was really good. We need more places to eat in Florence, so this is nice. (Thanks for the email tip).
There is a “but”. I am happy we are getting new places, but I want places with personality and food that inspires. I want green leafy salads and smoked salmon appetizers. I want places with dark wooden bars and pretty glasses. Is it too much to ask for some variety in our cuisine? Can Florence support places that serve food that is both tasty AND healthy?
I did notice that McDermott’s Irish Pub is opening in the Second Loop Piggly Wiggly. I am excited that this will add some variety to the Florence scene.
I will update you as I investigate all these new buildings in town.
