Someone asked what happened with the controversy over McLeod scheduling a race the same day as the Pecan Festival’s “Run Like a Nut.”
The answer as far as I can ascertain is… nothing. I have not seen it advertised, nor does anyone say it is officially canceled. A quick call to McLeod’s front desk told me that they “were not aware of any races scheduled.” It is also not listed on Cool Running. Sounds like the McLeod race may just be dead in the water. Everyone needs to be AT the Pecan Festival whether you run like a nut or not!
Updated again: A second call to Mcleod Health and Fitness to the “appropriate person” according to the Front Desk revealed that there are “no fall races scheduled at this time. We will probably have some though.”
