Your grocery store that is. I got into a discussion about grocery stores recently with a fellow Florentine (yes, I am admittedly lame) and realized people have VERY definite opinions about grocery stores here in Flo-town.
Personally, I am primarily a Food Lion on Second Loop shopper. It has all that I need, decent prices, and I don’t feel like I need to put on lipstick and a cute outfit. If I am dressed appropriately and feeling financially flush, I might hit the Harris Teeter. The only problem with the Teeter is that I am almost guaranteed to have to do the “grocery store duck.” You know the maneuver– where you duck down an aisle to avoid conversation with someone. (Not that I would EVER do that to YOU, of course.)
When I want a compromise store (somewhere between Harris Teeter and Food Lion) I generally go to the Pig. I may be going there more often now that they have online ordering. I really do hate their aisle setup– too skinny to unload the cart properly. As far as the Bi-Lo out near Carolinas… pbbbt. I can never find anything I need there. I have heard the IGA at Pamplico Hwy and Claussen Road is worth checking out, but it is rare that I get out that way.
I really want a Super Target, except then I know that I would be Super Broke as a result.
Yes, I have WAY overanaylzed grocery stores…but they do seem to get the majority of my money!

Looks like we share the same grocery store. I only go to 2nd Loop Food Lion for quick items, ie charcoal, ice cream etc.
My wife is a great bargain shopper. She goes to Aldi for certain items and the to Super Wal-Mart for others. She tells me this is quite a money saver. We have 3 boys and how she does all this and keep her sanity I will never know.
Mark, I don’t know how I forgot about Aldi! I love that store.
I also don’t know why there is a line saying “the webpage cannot be found.” I will have to work on that later!
