Ugh.

Mr. F and I went to Longhorn recently with some other couples. We had planned to go to Outback, so I was all ready to order prime rib. The line at Outback was too long so we headed over to Longhorn instead.
Mistake.
First of all Outback has an 8 ounce prime rib for $15.95. It is smaller than the weight listed for prime rib at Longhorn, but the cheapest prime rib at Longhorn is $17.95. That is a big difference. It is especially a big difference when half of my steak was nothing but fat. I am almost certain that there was less than 5 ounces of actual meat on the steak that I was served.
I had the asparagus as one of my sides, and it was good. Doused in butter, but good. Actually, the whole meal was just heavy. It seemed that there was a lot of butter used in the cooking, and the food felt heavy.
For some reason it just didn’t hit the spot for me.

I’d much rather go to longhorns than outback. In my opinion the food is better and the service is WAY better. I never get steaks out though so can’t speak for either places steaks.

Love the steak at Percy & Willy’s. Truly the big draw is the hot bacon/honey mustard dressing on the salad. But the steaks are good and NOT fatty. My cholesterol level probably spikes after eating there, but it’s worth the effort and the money. As a single old lady I find myself eating at the bar a lot when I go out alone to eat, and I’ve had good steaks at Papa Rod’s in Quinby (the asparagus was perfect). Unfortunately, my one experience at Longhorn’s had more than my quota of fat.
