I get emails every day from people wondering who I am. Sometimes they think I am other people in the community, a random hockey mom, a guy that actually lives in Charleston… wrong, wrong, and wrong.
The truth, as outlined in my about page, is that nothing can be kept a secret forever. I write every post here with the knowledge that I could be outed in the FloMo tomorrow. (Ok, I don’t think the FloMo cares who I am… but you know what I mean!)
Today I got an email that was pretty threatening. The author seemed to think that the Flossip’s secret identity was worth me paying them to keep a secret. They had apparently done some tracking, talked to some people, tracked my activities… all to argue that I am who they say I am. Unfortunately, they got the “who I am” part right. They managed to put it all together (but what a weird waste of time). They honestly thought I would pay them to keep my identity a secret. Their big plan was that they would take out an ad in the Morning News, all to ruin my fun little secret.
They obviously do not know how cheap I am. I will sell out faster than you can blink before I will pay money to a blackmailer. Luckily, I counseled with some VIP’s here in Flo-town for advice. (One is actually an accused Flossip! Ha!) Their consensus? Just tell you who I am. Just put it out there and stop this rotten blackmailer before he goes any further.
