Sunday Lunch

What do you call your Sunday lunch?  Lunch?  Brunch?  Dinner?

Growing up, we often ate Sunday Brunch at the Ramada Inn out on 52.  For years they had a great spread on Sunday’s.  It fizzled out a long time ago unfortunately.  Now if we eat Sunday lunch out, we generally go to Carol’s.  The current location is a nice size, we don’t generally have to wait to long, and the food and service is always outstanding. A friend of mine told me that her church actually does Sunday lunch for the members on Easter Sunday. That actually sounds like a wonderful idea to me, too bad I don’t go to her church! Because I love local people with websites, I have to note that my google search showed me that if you go to Hopewell Presbyterian, they are serving a breakfast after the Sunrise Service.

I posted a question on facebook asking for Sunday lunch recommendations and put together a little list.  Please free to comment and give me more suggestions. None of these places have actual websites, so I am just linking to sites that give you hours and directions.

1.  Carols I also have to mention that not only is the food good, but Bill and Carol Hall are some of the best people in town.

2. Rogers Bar-b-que (Also mentioned in this post.)

3. Young’s Plantation Kitchen. I have never eaten here, but received a comment that they have a good Sunday lunch.

4. If you are a member, the Florence Country Club. They have one of the best Sunday Buffets around, especially the salad portion. It is amazing what all is on there, everything from capers and smoked salmon to waldorf salad. I am not a member, so I will have to dream.

5. Bazens I actually have not had Bazen’s on a Sunday, but I have eaten there every other day. They have a really nice lunch, and great service. They also have a lot of room, so hopefully the wait isn’t too long.

Alright, there have to be more options, so sound off in the comments! Also– if a local restaurant could open on Sunday and offer a spread like the Florence Country Club? LET ME KNOW!

Remember to tell them you read about it on theflossip.com!! Thanks for reading!

Oakdale Country Club is quite nice on Sunday. I’ve only been with my aunt whose father works there, so I can’t say if it’s for members only or not.
