What all is there to do in Florence, SC during the week of May 18, 2009?
I am SO glad that you asked. There is actually a lot going on this week. I have been pretty busy myself lately, it seems that this time of year is always full of things to do in preparation for Summer Break.
Speaking of Summer Break, don’t you need a teacher gift? I don’t know if you know this, but they really prefer gifts to apples… and I mean all kinds of apples, both real and ceramic. Perhaps something shiny by Brighton? Porter’s Gift Shop is having a Brighton trunk Show on Wednesday May 20, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. They will have The Latest from Brighton… Watches… Bracelets… Necklaces… Earrings… and SURPRISES! (Surprises sounds intriguing…)
If you are going:
Porter’s Gift Shop
1641 West Palmetto Street
Florence, SC
I want to point out that a very important benefit will be held on Thursday May 21. There will be a benefit concert for Kristin Slaughtenhoupt. The Morning News had a great article about the event and Kristin so you can see why you should attend this fun night! This is the kind of event that shows the heart of our community, so if you ever have any doubts about living in Florence? This is the type of event that will reaffirm why you SHOULD live here.
The benefit will be featuring the Florence Little Theater, Florence Little Theater Singers, Masterworks Choir, Borrowed Time, and MORE! Dinner will be served at 5:30pm and the concert will start at 7:30. Purchase tickets at Woofers (2420 Hoffmeyer Rd.) 669-8828 for more details.
“What About Wednesday” will be playing on Friday night May 22, from 8-11 pm at the Depot Coffee Shop. I love this group, and you should give them a listen on their Myspace page. You will be hooked and definitely not want to miss hearing them live! (I hope they remember the Flossip when they are famous.)
