The Florence Post 1 American Legion baseball team will be hosting the 5th annual Post 1 Preseason Tournament this weekend, at both West and South Florence High Schools.
The Florence Legion team is a collection of the best baseball talent in the Florence, Dillon and Darlington areas and consists of mostly college freshman already playing college ball, and high school seniors signed with college teams for next year. The Post 1 team is the longest tenured sports team in the area, formed in 1932. Post 1 is one of only two teams in the state to have made it to 4 straight state tournament’s and has advanced to three straight state semi-finals.
