in Making Florence better,Out and About,Pondering,Support local merchants!

Y’all know that one of my goals here at the Flossip is to promote local merchants. There are many reasons for this, but the primary reason is to keep as much money in Florence as we possibly can.

Two local residents, Emily Jackson and Mike Miller, recently completed a year of eating food only grown in the Carolinas for a YEAR. I have read their blog from start to finish and enjoyed following their progress.

The Morning News recently did a write up on their project.

I am not sure that I could do what they did, but I think we should all be trying a little harder to follow their example. What tips and recommendations do YOU have?

Check out my local merchant links for ideas of how to keep your money in Florence. Also check out the Palmettovore website.

Remember to tell them you read about it on theflossip.com!! Thanks for reading!
