Come on, fess up… who decided to go for a quick hang gliding ultralight trip this afternoon?  Local photographer Phillip Guyton snapped this shot on his way home from work.  This might be my favorite picture since I started the Flossip.

Shot taken: “Right near acs/target i went under 95 heading away and there he was!”

We watched this same guy gliding over Ebenezer Baptist Church one Friday night a couple of weeks ago. My 4-year-old looked up and innocently said, “I don’t see the string, Mommy !” She thought it was a very large kite…priceless !

Seriously, that is hysterical. I have to google hang gliding now.

i’ve seen a pair of gliders flying over the lake Forrest area for about the last month. Seems at least once or twice a week. They look like this one on ebay. You can hear them flying. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Supereasy-motor-glider_W0QQitemZ220440227528QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotors_Aviation_Parts_Gear?hash=item335342eec8&_trksid=p4506.c0.m245&_trkparms=65%3A12|39%3A1|72%3A1171|240%3A1318

Is it a hang glider, or a ultralight with an engine? The wheels make me think it’s an ultralight. Also you aren’t likely to get thermals around.

I thought you had to have something to jump off or take off from to hang glide (like pulled by boat or from a cliff)????
