When I moved back to Florence after college, I became aware that Florence had a local employer by the name of ACS Technologies. The father of two kids I babysat for worked there, and I kept hearing good things about the company.
When I started the Flossip, I quickly learned that the key technology people in this area are almost all connected to ACS. As the years go by, every time I hear ACS mentioned it is in a positive light. If you have never been sure of what ACS does, they provide software for faith based organizations.
I have also become aware that in the midst of this recession– ACS is HIRING! This company is continuing to grow when others are not, and I am quite sure it has a lot to do with the high caliber of people working there and their mission and vision statements.
We focus development and service efforts in six key areas: mega, medium/large, and small churches, organizations, schools, and the Catholic market.
The bedrock of who we are and what we do for you is service. We are committed to providing you the the most up to date and useful technology integrated with unmatched, high quality service (Overview of ACS Technologies)
ACS has over 300 employees and over FIFTY THOUSAND clients throughout America. According to their Human Resources department,
Just this year, we have already hired 22 people and have job postings for 4 positions (our website, monster.com & peedeehelpwanted.com) and we are going to post one more position in the next few days. Once we hire all those, we will have hired 27 people since January!
If you are a local job seeker, make sure you keep their “Job Opportunities” page bookmarked. If you are involved with a church that needs any of the services provided by ACS, I can’t imagine looking anywhere else for your needs.
Florence is very lucky to have such a good corporate citizen.

I worked at ACS in the early years when it was called Computer Dimensions, Inc. I was there for 9 years and remember when there were only a handful of employees. I’m very proud to say that my brother was the President of the company for almost 30 years. He and the staff did an incredible job of growing ACS. He is a brilliant man who cared about his employees. Can you tell I’m a proud sister? Thanks for recognizing this amazing company.
We all love ACS, but I must note that there have also been some layoffs recently. I had several friends laid off from ACS in the past few months. No clue what the numbers are, or if they were in completely different areas than the hires, but I think it’s worth noting.
I saw the title to this post and thought it was one about me. You should not mislead people like that Flossip.
Yay ACS!
W00T!
Joey Mcknight is my hero.
They do more than just church stuff. They actually host FMU’s public website. Great company though. I have heard it is hard to get a job there. You almost have to be related to someone who works there to even get an interview. Not my personal experience, but just passing along what I have heard.
To clear-up a a few items:
1 – We are a business that is centered around serving the non-profit sector and we do intend to stay that way in the foreseeable future. FMU is a site that we host and develop within our Extend Platform because of our relationship with them and the community of Florence, SC.
2- ACS has never, in the 13 years I have been with the company, had any layoffs. It is a wonderful company to work for, and I am not related to anyone that works here
If anyone is interested in working at ACS our jobs are posted at http://www.acstechnologies.com/about/careers – while there are no jobs posted at this time I encourage you to send your resume and qualifications or keep checking back because we hire frequently and we fill positions quickly; we are an equal opportunity employer and there a lot of people that work here that are not related to each other so please do not let that discourage you, we need good people on our team so if you feel like you have skills that could benefit ACS please apply! …I hope that you can become part of our team!!
Thanks Flossip for the great post on ACS Technologies!
