in Things to do in Florence, SC

At first I thought this was primer. However, it has been this shade for over a week now. (I have since been told that this is the color that Veterinary Centers of America or VCA prefers.)

Remember to tell them you read about it on theflossip.com!! Thanks for reading!

Yeah that is bad. And unfortunately it looks a little worse every day. I, like you, was hoping/thinking that it was just a primer coat but the longer it stays up there like that the longer I think it was planned that way. Maybe the dogs will like it though.

I am so glad that my studio does not look across the street to that building any longer! I am also a little afraid of what they have in store for the brick. At least they have taken down the lettering and painted there now. There may be a psychological “pet trick” involved to coax the animals into the door.

If it is offensive to my eyes, it has to be offensive to the eyes of an artist! I think I will call them tomorrow and ask them what is up.

Just another thing that hurts my eyes on Second Loop – first the flashing light at the Kangaroo and now the hideous blue paint. FAIL on both!

Maybe they are trying to lure people in by the color because the new vets’ personalities sure don’t or won’t for me.

Yeah, my husband and I were talking about that last week….we both do not like! Talk about blinding!! Lol

Uh…a “primer” to what? A drag queen review?

That is so awful!!!!

I take my pets to this animal hospital and I and they love Dr. Taylor.

I called and asked, they said it will stay this color.

I have been told this is the VCA (new owner) color scheme. Could this possibly mean there are more smurf clinics across the US? Hideous color scheme aside, Dr. Taylor is an excellent Vet!

For those who don’t know this used to be the office of Dr. Gaddy. When he sold it to VCA he had to sighn an agreement that he would not practice in Florence for a specified amount of time. He has since set up shop in Kingstree but the aloted time has nearly passed and I’ve heard that he will return to Florence. This is what the office used to look like.

Some friends and I came by there today and it looks like they are doing more work.. Maybe it’s the backdrop to some great art..

For sure, it’s blue..

I think Dr. Taylor is fantastic. She’s an excellent vet and my dog LOVES her. …but there’s no replacing Dr. Gaddy. He’s top notch!

Please don’t be offensive to drag queens. They have much better style and color coordination.

16 Dana August 13, 2009 at 3:16 pm

Yeah.. pretty bad… I work right beside it and I have to see it everyday…

I think it’s very cheerful and innovative. I don’t understand why everyone’s having a fit. The building looked old and rundown for years, I think it’s good that they’re sprucing up the looks to match the quality of service. I’ve brought my cats there since Dr. Gaddy’s days, and I won’t be leaving til they shut it down!
