I heard someone complaining that they were “Stuck” in Florence this weekend. Unstick yourself my friend– there is PLENTY to do!

1.

    Florence After Five

September marks what may be our last concert in the Florence After Five series for 2009. We have invited another local favorite to perform blues and R&B. Loose Change is sure to entertain you and provide fun for the entire family. Join us downtown on September 4 at 5:30. Click here to read a great SCNow article about Loose Change. The article describes their music as:

A typical performance moves fluidly between jazz, R&B and classical pop hits, he said. The variety of experience among the band members, who range in age from late-20s to early 60s, provides the group with a wide range of musical interests.

    Art Trail Gallery

Come and see one of the few exhibits in South Carolina this year dedicated to glass!! By the way, Friday, September 4th, Florence Downtown Development will be hosting their Friday After Five event next to the Art Trail Gallery. The Metamorphosis Collective gallery will be open that evening in the same block as us, but they are on the Irby side. One block, one night, three things to do and they’re all FREE!!!! Destination? DOWNTOWN!!! I hope we’ll see you on Friday!

The Art Trail Gallery is located at 135 South Dargan. We are the next block to where they are building the new performing arts center. Our website can be found at: http://www.art-trail-gallery.com

I love Florence after 5 and I think its great that you and SCNOW cover it. However, I think it would be more popular if there was a single comprehensive website that would inform potential attendees of the line up, locations, and any other pertinent info. There should also be a gallery of pictures from previous events so people know how much fun is going on. The official page lacks any content whatsoever. http://www.florencedowntown.com/florence-after-five.aspx The web should be an integral part of the downtown redevelopment.
