Isn’t this a beautiful picture of a man and his horse? Just… grazing.

Well… yeah. Except that he is grazing in front of the AIRPORT. Yes, that is the Florence Airport. I guess he just needed to stretch his legs!

Those people ride those horses all the time around the airport. There is a group of horses and young guys. It is funny because the people that are riding them don’t look like anyone who would ever be riding horses at all!! :) They are usually doing that on the weekends.

I recently discovered a horse pasture in the middle of college park. Near where Converse St. becomes a dirt road. It seemed strange to me considering it is pretty much in the middle of town.

I’ve seen horses out at the airport before too. Definitely not a juxtaposition you expect to see!

The above comment, “It is funny because the people that are riding them don’t look like anyone who would ever be riding horses at all!!” made me wonder…(puffs of smoke emanating from the ole gray matter) what does a person who rides a horse look like exactly? I’m always up for learning new things :)

I must not pass by there are the right time since I’ve never seen them. I do miss seeing the old air planes though.

IN reply to KPA… You would think that someone riding a horse would be sporting the traditional cowboy hat, cowboy boots and a vest with fringes on it. Everytime I have seen these guys out there they are a little more “modern”… saggy pants, bandanas, and smoking cigarettes. I think its great that this is how they are spending their time Its just not something you see everyday. :)
