We were debating our lunch options earlier today. Redbone? Nah. Starfire? Nah. Apple Annies? Nah. Nah, nah, nah, NAH.
Don’t get me wrong, I love all those places. Unfortunately, the weather in Forks Washington Florence, SC has me all out of sorts. I just wanted comfort food for lunch, but payday is a few days away so I needed cheap comfort food.
Lightbulb!
I want a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich from the Venus. When I looked at the menu I changed my mind and had eggs over easy, toast, grits, and bacon. I had water to drink, and the grand total was $4.86. Awesome. The food was wonderful, my arteries are happily clogged a little more, and I can endure at least a few more hours of this weather.
The Venus was crowded, but there was no wait for seating. I had no idea it was such a daytime social gathering. I generally eat there about 12 hours later than I did today. (Pre-kids, of course.)

Venus is awesome
. Hopefully I can make it out there again soon… so much better than the chain breakfast establishments and cheaper too. It was the place to be late-night in college.
Their “meat and 2″ menu is awesome too. They have the BEST fried squash I have ever eaten.
