I had the best time at the Jason Aldean concert! Mr. Flossip and I made a date night out of it and went to dinner before the concert. We got to the concert as Colt Ford was starting. I liked him as the opening act, but I can’t say that country rap is my favorite music. I actually liked when they did “Low” and “Boom Boom Pow” more than I did their country stuff. Ok… and their mashup of “Devil Went Down to Georgia”. Honestly when that song and “Sweet Home Alabama” start playing… I know I am truly southern! (I am pretty sure Mr. Flossip was embarrassed that I knew every word to “Low” and “Boom Boom Pow.”)
We had tickets that were to the side and low, so I could see really well. Jason Aldean played to the crowd like a true star. I admit that I was a little nervous when he actually went INTO the crowd. I’m fairly certain the two event staffers were far more nervous than I was. Prior to the concert I enjoyed his music, but now I can say I am a HUGE fan!
I have been to bigger concerts at the Civic Center in the past (Michael Bolton) for one, but this was the biggest crowd I remember seeing in at least the past five years. It felt good to know that our little town can have a concert and fill all the seats.
The Civic Center staff was doing a great job. Every time I had a question there was someone available to answer. Things were kept clean, the seats were set up properly.
I can honestly say that this was some of the best people watching time I have had in a while. I loved seeing all the different cowboy boots and cowboy hats. You could really tell the people that are used to wearing a cowboy hat… and those that pulled them out for the concert.
It was cold and nasty out, but the Civic Center was warmed up with a full house of people ready to sing some Jason Aldean!
(Don’t forget to thank this months sponsor “All that To Go”, especially on a day like today. Their baked potato soup and a sandwich with the coupon is a perfect combination!)
