“Don’t Cry for me Margaret Mitchell” opens at the Florence Little Theater this weekend. Directed by Shaw Thompson, this play is sure to delight audiences every night that it is open.
Hollywood producer David Selznick and his newly-appointed director Victor Fleming have a problem. Filming of the epic movie “Gone With the Wind” has already begun — but Selznick hates the script. At great cost, filming is stopped for a week and Selznick insists that the script must be reworked (again.)
In the middle of the night, the two men “kidnap” renowned script doctor Ben Hecht from his apartment and, with the sole aid of Selznick’s faithful secretary, the trio lock themselves in Selznick’s office to create a miracle. The boss wants a new script in just one week — and Hecht has never even read the famous Margaret Mitchell book

Hooray for Hollywood and the Flossip.
I second that Shannon!
I got a sneak peak of a rehearsal last week – for people who love the book/movie (like me!) – it’s a must-see. The set will knock your socks off – pretty dang good for a little ol’ community theater. I <3 FLT!
I got a peek at the GWTW artifacts in the lobby. Be sure to get to the theater early enough to check them out. Pretty cool that FLT got them!
