JP’s Steak and Seafood House

in Places to Eat,Support local merchants!

The Costas family has opened JP’s Steak and Seafood House on Irby Street. I went last weekend with a large group of girls, and we had the best time!

JP’s has a great menu with a diverse selection. I really enjoyed the scallops. Another girl at my table had prime rib that she loved, and another loved the flounder. I did not get the She Crab Soup but that is a definite on my list for next time (and there will be a next time). There was a nice sized crowd there. We got there early so we didn’t have to wait, which was nice.

I loved the food, and I also loved the atmosphere. You can certainly tell this is a family business. Everyone is friendly and working together. I spent a good bit of time wandering around looking at the decor.

There is a list of the menu items here.

They will be open this weekend, so be sure to stop in for a meal!

The She Crab Soup wonderful….and I don’t even particularly like seafood soups! A bowl of that, a basket of hushpuppies, and a cold Corona with lime will be my next order there. The rest was pretty good (unfortunately, we were there on a busy night when they were short staffed, and our order was not right after waiting a very long time to get it), but the highlight for me was the soup!

Just wondering Flossip what you thought in terms of kids… did it seem kid friendly? Wondering if I should wait & go on a date night or take my 5 year olds :)
thanks!

Dawn, definitely kid friendly. They have more of a “family restaurant” atmosphere more than a “date night” atmosphere.
