I have a question…. if you are heading down Edisto towards Cherokee…. you go over the bridge at Jeffries Creek and there is a school zone with a flashing light. Is there an end to that school zone? I maintain school zone speed and continue through the NEXT flashing school zone light. But, where does it end? Am I totally missing an “end school zone” sign? People get very impatient– especially after I pass the turn for Briggs and I maintain 25 through the second light. Generally, I assume it ends at the stop light.
Anyone?

What a great question! I have lived on that end of Edisto my entire life and never really thought about it. I usually go 35 after I pass Claremont. There is someone with the Police Dept that lives on Edisto closer to Cherokee. I will have to ask him next time I see him. I certainly don’t want to break the law, especially a school zone.

Just watch (in your mirror) for the flashing signal presented to drivers in the opposite lane. That should mark the end of the zone for you.
The geek in me couldn’t resist. I used Google Street View to “drive” that section of Edisto. I found the opposing signal just south of Brookwood, so that zone is only about 1/4 mile long.
