I haven’t eaten there, but I sure do miss the restaurant that was there before…

ME TOO! I loved Old Europe. I could eat some of their hummus and flat bread right now.

The color kinda goes with the Julia’s colors don’t you think?! I think we ate there the last day it was Old Europe! The kids missed the ceiling decor and wondered what happened to it!

An Ode to Old Europe
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Old Europe, how I miss thee!
Your Greek potatoes were divine.
Your grilled cheese divine.
I’ll miss you till the end of time.
I never claimed to be a poet. LOL
oops. I’m an even worse poet than I thought! The grilled cheese was supposed to be “sublime”. ;)
If you are missing Old Europe, you really need to check this place out. The Greek food is out of this world. In fact, I have yet to try anything on the menu that is not outstanding. And the prices are very reasonable as well.
A friend of mine just ate there yesterday and he said it was a miserable experience, from the food to the wait staff.
I miss Old Europe, too. Why does it seem like Florence can’t hang on to the good, local ones?
Had good and bad experiences at Old Europe, for the most part the food was mediocre. Anyways, I tried Fireside Grill the first week it was open! The waitress knew nothing about the menu or the drinks that they served. After asking for a beer she had to go check to make sure they had it in stock, once she brought it to the table I went to drink it and when I grab the bottle the beer wasn’t even cold! I am not a fan of room temperature beer! When I asked the waitress about it she looked confused and told me she put some in the freezer to get them colder faster! After that we ordered some form of pasta that I was not impressed by at all! After receiving our food the waitress did come back a few times to check on us, it was near closing so she decided to start cleaning the table as we were still eating. She even took the glass I was drinking out of so I was stuck there eating dinner with nothing to drink! It just left a bad taste in my mouth, I don’t think I will be back!
My sister and my mom ate at Fireside when it first opened and apparantly had an experience similar to the one Jason described above. I’d be interested to know what it’s like now…maybe they just had a rough start??
I tried eating there, but they never came back to take my order after giving us our drinks. They weren’t anywhere near busy, so that wasn’t an excuse. We just walked out. I won’t be back. Besides, bad building decor/colors won’t get my positive attention.
