That’s right. Tomorrow from 4 PM until closing, the Moe’s in Florence will be donating 15% of their sales to the Florence Humane Society.

So take a night off from cooking dinner (come on, we all know you deserve it!) and head to Moe’s to support a great cause!

So the Flossette was out and about today and I decided to stop into Florence’s new Flirt Boutique. Have any of you heard of it? It’s new to town and they carry some CUTE clothes for women ranging from teenagers on up. If you’re not in the mood for clothes, they have some really cool jewelry and bags as well. Also, they had some realllllllly cute scarves (which apparently are going to be all the rage this Fall!)

The saleswoman was SO nice and so helpful yet not over-bearing which is a major plus.

They are located at 315 Rainbow Dr. in Florence. In case you don’t know where that is, it is the road that connects Hoffemeyer and Palmetto (it runs right in front of Spa De Vie and Apple Annie’s).

Support local businesses and head over to Flirt to stock up on cute (and affordable!) fashions for the upcoming Fall season. Oh, and for those of you who travel a good bit to Columbia and Clemson for football games: Flirt had a lot of cute outfits that would be GREAT for the games in each teams respected colors. Gotta love that!

It’s almost that time of year again… yes it’s college football and cool weather but also the annual Florence Greek Festival!

It will be held Thursday September 24th through that Sunday the 26th at Transfiguration of Our Savior Greek Orthodox Church. This is at 2990 S. Cashua Drive in Florence (across from Creek Ratz).

This is one of Florence’s oldest festivals and is a great time for the whole family! According to the event’s Facebook page there will be:

Ok, so I know it isn’t in Florence but this event is still for a great cause and is sure to be a great time!

The Darlington County Humane Society is hosting a 5K Walk/Run in Hartsville on Saturday August 29th at Byerly Park. According to the event’s Facebook page: “The second annual Bark at the Park race and fundraiser is gearing up for Aug. 29. Our goal is to raise money for The Darlington County Humane Society and help enable them to continue with much needed programs that provide medicines, vaccinations, vet care, spay/neutering, food, and improvements to the shelter.

This 5k run / walk will begin at 8am. Everyone is welcome including your pets! There will also be an adoption center on site with pets from the Humane Society.”

So bring the family (and the dogs!) and come over to Hartsville for a little exercise and a good cause!

Ok, so, this post might be a little short and I may lose my train of thought. You see, I’m currently writing this from the FMU library in one of its many dark, secluded corners. I have been stuck in here for the past 4 days trying to get ready finals! I’m assuming that all of you are just as ready for summer as I am! Summer = Awesome. Now that we have THAT out of the way.

The Florence Area Humane Society’s benefit is coming up next week! It’s called Bone-e-fit (like benefit) and from what I heard, it is going to be a great time! From what I read below, it seems the Flossip has gotten her hands on some tickets. HINT HINT. Just putting it out there that I don’t have any plans next Thursday (May 7th!)

If you’re interested in going, tickets are 75 dollars. Listen, I know times are tough but this is for a good cause! PLUS they are having a silent auction, live music, locally provided food and OPEN BAR. Now, if that didn’t get your attention, I don’t know what will. In order to get tickets, head to Fisher Jewelrs, Porter’s Gift Shop, Planet Arf or Woofers.

Flossip, if you make me babysit instead of taking me I might give this website a bad review! Only kidding!!

So the Flossette has discovered a new restaurant in Florence to add to her list of favorites….

Hibachi Grill!

Have any of you been there? Its located next to the old Wal-Mart in the old Athelete’s Foot building (don’t think too hard about that. trust me!) When I walked in the door, I was greeted instantly and given a number so that they could call me when a table was ready. The place was PACKED and it still only took them 5 minutes to seat me.

On the inside, the place is amazing! It almost looked like a casino with a bazillion (not really..but a ton) of buffets! I snagged a flyer before I left and here are some of the highlights:

“We have over 200 different items on the bar. Plus we have a Hibachi selection which you can pick and choose to make up your own menu, so we can cook it on the Hibachi for no additional charge.”

200 items? I believe it! I saw EVERYTHING I could have imagined: A huge fruit bar, pizza, potato skins, cheese sticks, sushi, octopus, pasta, salad, three or four different kinds of rice, a dessert bar and MORE.

Another plus? They are open 7 days a week. They also have private rooms in case you need somewhere to host a party or an office meeting. Also, the prices are completely reasonable!

DINNER:
Mon-Sat: $8.99
Kids (3-6): $3.95
7-10 year olds: $5.50
Sunday all day dinner

LUNCH:

I would have never thought that I would be so obsessed with this place since I am such a devoted Sakura fan…butttttt I have to give it up to Hibachi Grill because they have got it going on!

I don’t know about ya’ll, but the Flossette is NOT a big fan of Monday’s. I hope that everyone made the best of their Monday and ended up having a great day!

Last weekend, some friends and I decided to head to one of my favorite Florence restaurants: Groucho’s! I could eat there probably everyday of my life and never get sick of the Apollo Dipper… yum! And don’t even get me started on the “Groucho’s Sauce!” Okay, enough. I’m drooling now. (Just kidding!)

But in all seriousness, if you’re ever looking for a filling but quick lunch around Florence, head to Groucho’s (I know there is one at 5 points and one inside of McLeod Hospital).

Hey ya’ll, Flossette here!!

So sorry that I have been M.I.A. recently. Between midterms and leaving town for spring break, I have been incredibly busy! I don’t know about y’all, but I sure hope that everyone is out being safe and keeping an eye out for the wanted man. How scary?!

Anyways, got a little weekend scoop for ya. Anyone familiar with country music star Rhett Atkins? He has had some really great songs over the past years and I’ve always considered myself a fan. Anyways, he will be playing at a bar in between Darlington and Hartsville called Carolina Nightlife on Saturday night. Tickets are 25 bucks a pop and from what I’ve heard, there will be various acts playing all day starting at noon! I think the weather is supposed to be bad so if any of y’all decide not to head to cup (or decide not to do whatever you had planned), head on over to Darlington for this concert. Maybe I’ll show up?

Guess you’ll never know!

So one day last week I was out and about in Florence and decided to stop into Stitch It & More. I had been in there before and lets just say I was just as pleased as I was the first time!

They have tons of precious things! Such a large variety, too, which is awesome. Anything from baby gifts, purses, jewlery, tumblers, monogrammed binders (how awesome?!), dresses, koozies, wallets, and MORE. Also, if you have stuff lying around your house that you’ve just been meaning to go get monogrammed, well Flossette is telling you to take it to Stitch It and More and they will monogram it for you!

Graduation season is approaching and Stitch It and More is the place to go to find graduation presents for ALL of the graduates on your list!

I’m still upset that monogrammed binders (the zip-up kind!!) weren’t around when I was in lower and middle school. Shoot, I keep debating as to whether or not to go get the polka dot one for college. Is that weird? What can I say, I love monograms!

In other news (not really), my spring break started today! I am not going to reveal my plans because some of you may be friends with the real me on Facebook and figure it out! But I may have another post for you before I leave on my trip but if not…you all have a great week and I will see you when I get back!

Hey ya’ll! Flossette here!

After class today, I cruised back into Florence in hopes of finding some good things to write about! One word: SUCCESS!! I don’t have much time to write right now but check back tonight or in the morning for some exciting stuff!! I was on the move today and got a lot accomplished. Go me!
