Wondering if Hapi spikes your interest? We would LOVE to be on your Florence links page. Our services offered to florentines involves yoga, massage, zumba, belly dance, salsa nights (every other Saturday @ 5pm -the instructors live in Columbia), & ballet, tap, jazz (for ages 4-high school). Our prices are a crazy great deal and our instructors are off the chain amazing(certified and experienced)! These services provide us the means to perform our number one goal: impacting Florence by fighting against childhood obesity. We host FREE work out classes for children Monday through Thursday at 4pm. On these days I see 15-35 children (half of them or more struggling with weight issues) working out and LOVING it because they are having fun. They don’t know they are working out because they are too busy hula hooping and chasing each other, being motivated to MOVE through yoga, hip-hop, and other great exercises. These children don’t have the means for personal trainers, access to workout facilities, or the funding to stay active through sports. Hapi Balance considers it our duty to have a positive outreach on our community that we love and appreciate so dearly. The more people know, the more we can do and offer, so I am humbling asking for your support through spreading the word. We want to see a healthy Hapi Florence! I recently started writing for She and if you need any yoga info I wrote a page on it in the Jan. 2012 issue(it’s the next to last page)…hoping to break down the walls of misperceptions some Christians hold on it. Be encouraged and keep flowing!

Established in 1975, the school offers instruction in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop and CheerDance.

The School of Dance Arts provides a qualified program of intensive dance for those who may wish to dance professionally as well as provides the community with a dance school dedicated to the development of its students at all levels. The curriculum is designed to develop strength, flexibility, endurance, and most importantly to enjoy the art of Dancing!

The dance season begins each fall and continues for a 9 month period. Recitals are held annually at the Florence Little Theatre to highlight the skills mastered during the dance year!

Throughout the year, students are featured at local festivals and events to showcase their talents.

Another bit of good news may be on the horizon! Not really a secret but mainly just whispering…Burnadene Kelley of KFA has been asked to apply to be the “director” of the Miss South Carolina pageant. She has been all over town getting letters of support..if she gets it, she wants to bring the pageant to FLORENCE. It would bring LOTS of activity, people and spotlights on our wonderful city for two weeks at the end of June, beginning of July…Next year. What a wonderful way to open the season at the new Performing Arts Center! Keep your fingers crossed! Her application has to been in on Thursday, should hear somethiing soon as there will be a lot of planning for our great city. coleman
